FORMING THE ROCKIES! Hey ya'll, I'm gonna tell ya all about the cowboy who rode so fast, he could ride faster than a tornado! My name is James and this cowboy I was talkin' about, was named Fredrick Dalson. Once, we was sitting in a play about England, when we heard a couple talkin' 'bout the "boring" old west. He heard that it was a pretty dull place. So Fredrick and I hightailed it out there on our horses to find out what all the talk was about. Well, all there was, was prairie. We both always wanted to become popular, because we was not always the popular type, so we decided to take a rest under a shady tree and think about the problem. It WAS a pretty dull place. All there were, was, plains. Endless miles of vast, rolling prairie. After a while Fredrick exclaims,” James, by golly, why don’t we make some mountains?" I replied," I don't see why we can't." So we started thinking about how we was gonna make them mountains. *An hour later* Fredrick comes back from riding his horse around and thinking about our problem when he says,” James, I got it! Well, I got a friend who has 300 head of cattle out here. By golly, we could ask him to borrow them!" "What for?" I replied. "Well, don't you see, we could go to his ranch, ask him for about, umm, maybe 50 head, bring some harnesses and hook them on the cattle and hook that to a tree and start them head a pullin' and make them pull the mountains right out of the ground!" Fredrick said. "Sounds like a AMAZING idea to me!" I exclaimed. So, what do you say? I say yes. Lets get going on over to your friends ranch! WOW, there sure is a lot of dust 'round here! Look! There is my friends ranch! When we got there we talked to him and explained our situation and he gladly let his cattle be used to make a natural landscape. We brought along some harnesses so we could hitch them to the trees so we could make the mountains. Well, here is as good as ever, I guess. So, we saddled up our cattle and hooked them to a tree and had them all start walking! Well, they started pulling and pulling and pulling and the ground started cracking! We were pulling the ground right up and forming mountains!!! "I can't believe this works!" I cried. It was working! Fredrick’s jaw looked like it was about to hit the ground! We were turning this boring, vast, endless, prairie into something beautiful!!! Pretty soon, those cows had made "Pikes Peak" and the Rocky Mountains! Finally, people started west like wildfire! From all over the country they came to see what all the hulabakazoo was about! People couldn't believe the mountains! They thought it was the most beautifu' thing they eva' saw! People thought we was the greatest thing to walk this earth! This was one of the best decisions ever! From all over the U.S. came people! On and on they came! They came to mine and explore the mountains! When people saw the mountains they thought they was dreaming! Fredrick and I got as much praise as the president would! Over and over people wanted to get our attention to thank us for our good “deed” we did. We knew that for hundreds, of thousands of years, will these mountains be cherished. Andy Spatchek
